Francois Galissaires , Paco’s , very own way of working is what makes this week so interesting.

He works on the wheel, often deforming the work afterwards. He turns them into boxes with flaps, lids and finely refined decorations in the form of stamps, small wheels and incisions. Completely “out of the box”.

A fascinating way of working inspired by the Bauhaus style leads to original design.

The soda firing shows these structures to advantage.

Slibs and engobes are given their hue by the soda, which brings out their properties.

Paco is one of the few ceramists to master the technique of Soda firing and is a big name in the Ceramics world.

Since he does not teach on a large scale, it is an honour for us to be able to include him in our programme.
