The Ceramic Course is priced at €1120. To secure your spot, a €200 advance payment is required upon registration. You have the option to settle the remaining balance up to two weeks before the course commencement, or you can also choose to make a cash payment upon your arrival at Cordes sur Ciel. We will be guests of the Theunissen family, Frank, Elly, Loes and Jet, and will spend seven days working with clay, water and fire, from building, throwing and trimming to working with slips and glazes, after which we will fire our creations together in a wood-fired kiln. But not before we have chopped and split the necessary firewood.
Firing a wood-fired kiln is always a unique experience, which begins with filling the kiln. Each piece is placed on waddings, the spaces between the pieces are filled with pots of table salt, little dragons with orton cones and test rings are placed in strategic positions in the kiln.

Then it is the flames that curl through the pots and sculptures, finding their way to the chimney, literally fuelled by more and more wood, and the table salt that does its magical work and, hopefully, transforms each object into a unique piece.
And finally, the “moment suprême”, the opening of the kiln…

– Everything you need to express your creativity, from clay to firewood, is available in the studio.
– Our hosts Jet and Loes will spoil us with breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, local wines, hospitality, etc.
– Excursion while the kiln is cooling down
