Denis Di Luca is a master ceramicist with a background in industrial and product design. Educated in San Marino and Venice, he combines traditional Italian craftsmanship with contemporary design. His strong interest in chemistry did allow him to experiment and perfect techniques like Naked Raku.

At La Céramique in Cordes-sur-Ciel, Denis teaches the techniques of Raku firing while encouraging students to experiment, develop their own ideas, and enjoy the creative process. His goal is not only to teach practical skills, but also to inspire students to look at ceramics in a new way and discover the possibilities of clay, glaze, and fire.

* Day 1: Introduction to the course and week’s agenda.
* Day 2: Denis’s presentation, clay preparation, and test tile making. Clay lesson.
* Day 3: Continuation of piece production, trimming, drying, and Terra Sigillata lesson.
* Day 4: Morning production, piece trimming, drying, Terra Sigillata application, and bisque firing.
* Day 5: Glazing techniques, tile decoration, and different Raku firings.
* Day 6 & 7: Decoration and Raku firing of your pieces, discussion of results, and exhibition preparation.
* Day 8: Course conclusion and farewell
